HAU Medication Access staff go onsite to several HAU partner clinics and assist patients in enrolling with pharmaceutical company prescription assistance programs that provide medications at no cost for long-term health conditions. Some of the most commonly accessed medications are insulin, inhalers, and cardiovascular medications. To participate, patients must be uninsured, low-income, and establish a primary care home at a participating clinic. Eligibility in these programs typically lasts for 1 year before requiring re-enrollment.
In addition to enrolling patients in drug manufacturers’ Prescription Assistance Programs, HAU partners with Oklahoma County Government Social Services to provide bulk medications to stock eligible partner clinics’ pharmacies through the Oklahoma County Pharmacy. Patients can also directly access the Oklahoma County Pharmacy as a walk-in. Patients must reside within Oklahoma County with income not above 150% of the federal poverty level and have no private Insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.
